Priority Tree Service is a family-owned, professionally operated tree care company serving Vancouver and Clark County. We are looking for an experienced tree groundsman to join our crew.

This is not an entry-level ground position. We are looking for someone who already has professional tree-service experience and understands how to work safely and efficiently as part of a production tree crew.

We take pride in running a professional crew. That means showing up ready to work, wearing required PPE, communicating respectfully, taking care of equipment and customer property, and maintaining professional conduct on the jobsite.

What We're Looking For

The right candidate should have professional tree-service ground experience and be comfortable with:

• Running ropes and supporting climbers during pruning and removal operations
• Basic rigging and lowering operations
• Operating and feeding a chipper safely and efficiently
• Operating chainsaws and other common tree-care equipment
• Understanding drop zones and maintaining situational awareness
• Setting up and maintaining an organized, safe jobsite
• Moving and processing brush, logs, and debris efficiently
• Performing thorough jobsite cleanup
• Anticipating the needs of the climber and crew rather than constantly waiting for direction
• Working around trucks, trailers, chippers, stump grinders, and other tree-service equipment
• Communicating clearly with the crew and following the direction of the crew lead

Mandatory PPE is required. Employees are expected to properly wear all required PPE for the task being performed and follow company safety procedures.

• No smoking or vaping on customer properties
• Professional appearance and company clothing while working
• Respect for customer homes, landscaping, vehicles, and property
• Proper care of company trucks, tools, and equipment
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• A willingness to work with employees of different experience levels
• A team-first attitude without unnecessary drama or disrespect

We work on customers' properties every day, and professionalism is just as important to us as production.

Qualifications

Required:

• Previous professional tree-service ground experience
• Chainsaw experience
• Experience working with ropes in tree-removal and/or pruning operations
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work
• Ability to safely lift, drag, carry, and process tree debris
• Reliable transportation to work
• Ability to follow safety procedures and crew-lead instructions
• Dependable work history and strong attendance

Preferred:

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Experience driving tree-service trucks and trailers
• CDL
• Rigging experience
• Stump grinder experience
• ISA credentials or interest in pursuing professional arboriculture training

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
