Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with confidence and precision.
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, including dog handling, equine experience, and general animal restraint methods.
• Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, and maintaining a clean and sterile environment through diligent cleaning practices.
• Administer medications, IV insertions, and perform animal catheterizations following veterinary protocols to ensure optimal patient care.
• Support record keeping by accurately documenting treatments, medication administration, patient history, and procedural details using veterinary terminology.
• Manage front desk duties including client communication, appointment scheduling, and providing pet care advice with professionalism and empathy.
• Maintain compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) use standards to ensure safety for staff and animals alike.
• Assist with surgical preparation and post-operative care while understanding animal physiology and anatomy to support recovery processes effectively.

Qualifications

• Proven kennel experience combined with veterinary clinic experience demonstrating familiarity with animal handling and husbandry.
• Experience working as a veterinary technician or in veterinary critical care settings is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, medication administration, record keeping, and pet care procedures.
• Ability to perform IV insertions, animal catheterizations, and assist with surgeries confidently.
• Excellent client communication skills paired with a genuine passion for animal welfare and behavior understanding.
• Prior experience with front desk operations within a veterinary setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of equine handling or additional animal species experience is a plus but not required.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe environment through proper PPE use and adherence to hygiene standards.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 9.0 – 20.0 per week
