About the Position

Our veterinary receptionists are an essential part of the client experience and the daily operation of our hospital. This is a busy, hands-on position that requires excellent communication, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to multitask while providing friendly, professional service.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and check patients in and out.
• Manage a busy, multi-line phone system, handling at least two phone lines.
• Schedule doctor, technician, and surgical appointments according to hospital protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation in our electronic medical records system.
• Prepare estimates and communicate clearly with clients.
• Respond promptly to client questions by phone, email, and text, documenting communications appropriately.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked hospital.
• Handle animals safely and appropriately.
• Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to provide excellent patient care and client service.

Experience with Neo and/or Otto is a plus!

Qualifications

At least one year of actual veterinary hospital or veterinary clinic experience is required. General reception or customer-service experience alone does not meet this requirement.

Compensation, Benefits & Schedule

Pay: Starting at $19/hour. This is our minimum, not our maximum. Higher pay is available for candidates whose experience, knowledge, and skills warrant it.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday. Hospital operating hours are 7:45 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Individual shifts have staggered start and end times and consist of eight working hours plus a one-hour unpaid lunch.

Ark Animal Hospital contributes toward health, dental, and vision insurance premiums for employees who choose to enroll. Employees are responsible for the remaining cost; insurance premiums are not fully employer-paid.

Weekends: Hospital closed Saturdays and Sundays.

Holiday closures: Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
