4th Street Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our growing team.

We're looking for someone who is confident in their technical abilities, takes ownership of patient care, and works well as part of a busy veterinary team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys using their skills every day and wants to work in a hospital where technicians are an important part of the medical team.

Certification is preferred but not required. Veterinary technician experience is required.

What You'll Do

As a member of our technical team, you'll work closely with our veterinarians and support staff throughout all areas of the hospital. Responsibilities may include:

• Obtaining patient histories and assisting veterinarians with appointments
• Venipuncture and blood collection
• Placing and maintaining IV catheters
• Collecting and preparing laboratory samples
• Running in-house diagnostic testing
• Obtaining diagnostic digital radiographs
• Preparing patients for surgical and dental procedures
• Monitoring anesthesia and recording patient parameters
• Providing pre-operative and post-operative patient care
• Administering medications, injections, fluids, and treatments as directed by a veterinarian
• Performing dental radiographs and assisting with dental procedures
• Assisting with ultrasound and other diagnostic procedures
• Communicating treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive-care recommendations to clients
• Maintaining complete and accurate medical records
• Keeping treatment, laboratory, surgical, and patient-care areas organized and ready for use
• Working collaboratively with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client care staff

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can contribute from day one while continuing to develop professionally.

The right candidate will have:

• At least two years of veterinary technician experience
• CVT certification preferred, but not required
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills
• Experience with venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Familiarity with anesthesia monitoring and surgical patient care
• Strong attention to detail and patient safety
• Excellent communication and client-service skills
• The ability to prioritize and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• A dependable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
• Willingness to help wherever needed to keep the hospital running smoothly

Availability on Mondays and Saturdays is required.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position that requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and safely restraining animals throughout the workday. Team members should be capable of lifting up to approximately 50 pounds, with assistance when appropriate.
