What they need

Wit Restoration is a growing local water mitigation company seeking an experienced technician who wants to help build a company and grow into a field leadership role.

You will work directly with the owner on residential and light commercial water damage projects. We’re looking for someone who can contribute practical experience, take ownership of their work, and help establish consistent standards for drying, documentation, equipment care, and customer service.

This position is best suited for someone interested in eventually moving into field management. As workload and staffing grow, that could include overseeing jobs, coordinating technicians, training new hires, managing equipment, and maintaining quality across projects. Advancement and compensation will depend on demonstrated performance and business growth.

The position starts part-time with variable, job-based hours. Some weeks may have no work, and weekly hours are not guaranteed. Our goal is to develop this into a more consistent role as the business grows, but there is no guaranteed timeline for full-time employment or promotion.

What you’ll do

  • Inspect affected areas, take moisture readings, and document water damage.
  • Perform water extraction and selective removal of damaged materials.
  • Set up containment and drying equipment.
  • Monitor drying progress, maintain drying logs, and recommend adjustments.
  • Capture clear job photos, measurements, and notes.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and the owner.
  • Load, unload, clean, and maintain equipment.
  • Follow safe work practices and keep jobsites organized.
  • Help develop practical job procedures and quality standards.
  • Take increasing responsibility for field operations as your role develops.

Who we’re looking for

  • Previous hands-on water mitigation experience is required; two or more years preferred.
  • Experience with moisture meters, dehumidifiers, air movers, and drying documentation.
  • Ability to explain projects you have personally handled from initial assessment through drying completion.
  • IICRC WRT certification preferred; ASD certification is a plus.
  • Strong judgment, reliable communication, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working alongside the owner, contributing ideas, and accepting feedback.
  • Interested in eventually leading technicians and managing field operations.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to perform physical fieldwork, including moving equipment and working in confined areas, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Previous supervisory experience is welcome but not required. We value someone who takes responsibility, follows through, and wants to develop as a leader.

Pay and scheduling

  • $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and ability to lead jobs.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Four-hour minimum pay for initial mitigation, extraction, or demolition dispatches.
  • Two-hour minimum pay for scheduled monitoring or equipment pickup visits.
  • Unscheduled night and weekend emergency response paid at 1.5 times your base rate, with a four-hour minimum.
  • Company-provided job equipment and required PPE.
  • Paid job documentation, equipment preparation, cleanup, and required training.
  • Responsibilities and compensation reviewed as the position grows.

Scheduling will be coordinated around agreed availability. Daytime availability is valuable, with occasional evening and weekend work. This position does not require unrestricted 24/7 availability.

How to apply

Apply with your resume or a summary of your relevant experience. Please include:

  • Your water mitigation experience and previous responsibilities.
  • Any current IICRC certifications.
  • Your typical weekday, evening, and weekend availability.
  • Whether you have independently handled drying setup, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Why you’re interested in growing into a field leadership or management role.

Qualified applicants may be invited to complete a paid practical skills assessment.
