Experienced Welder

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced welder to join our team at a busy shop specializing in the fabrication of steel girders for highway projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding structural steel components, with a focus on precision and safety. This role involves working on large-scale steel girders, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and project specifications. Candidates should be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Perform welding operations on steel girders used in highway construction projects, adhering to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Set up and operate various welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, or stick welders, as required for different tasks.
• Inspect welds for quality and consistency, making necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to accurately execute fabrication tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Experience

• Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or fabrication shop, preferably with experience building steel girders or structural steel components for highway or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols accurately.
• Familiarity with safety standards related to welding and metal fabrication environments.
• Attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
