What they need
The Window Brothers is a small window-cleaning business growing across Utah County. I’m the owner, I work in the field, and I’m looking for the first experienced technician to work alongside me. This is a chance to help set the standard for how we protect customer property, communicate, and deliver work we are proud to put our name on.
At first, we will usually travel to jobs and work together. I’ll supply the window-cleaning equipment and materials. I’m looking for someone who already knows the work, takes safety seriously, and wants room to grow as we add more customers and routes.
What you’ll do
- Review the job, arrival window, property notes, and approved service before starting.
- Travel with the owner to early jobs unless another arrangement is agreed in advance.
- Send approved customer updates through our mobile field app and identify yourself to customers by first name only.
- Update job status and time records when you are on the way, arrive, start, and finish.
- Clean interior and exterior window panes and approved screens or tracks using professional methods.
- Check access and safety conditions before starting and report extra work or scope changes for approval.
- Protect floors, furniture, siding, landscaping, and customer belongings, and leave every work area clean.
- Help customers access their invoice or payment link and accurately record cash, Venmo, check, or in-person card payment status. Never enter or store card numbers.
- Record useful job notes and promptly report damage, delays, safety concerns, or customer questions.
- Care for equipment and follow ladder, chemical, driving, and property-safety procedures.
How pay works
- You earn 35% of customer service revenue actually collected from completed jobs assigned to and personally performed by you.
- A completed and paid $150 minimum job earns you $52.50. A completed and paid $400 job earns you $140.
- Commission is earned after the job is completed, required records are submitted, and the customer’s payment clears.
- Commissions are paid weekly under a written payout schedule provided before work begins.
- Commission is the main pay. If a slow week’s commission does not equal the required minimum wage for all recorded work time, pay will be topped up to the legal minimum. When commission already exceeds that floor, there is no separate hourly amount added on top.
- Customer tips for your work are yours and are separate from the 35% calculation.
- Canceled, unpaid, fully refunded, or uncompleted jobs do not earn commission. Any crew or split-job allocation will be agreed before the work begins.
- Hours and jobs are not guaranteed while the business is growing.
- All required working time will be recorded, and compensation will follow applicable wage and overtime requirements.
What I’m looking for
- At least 18 years old.
- Prior professional window-cleaning experience is required; residential experience is strongly preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the agreed meeting point. Current vehicle insurance is required if you use your vehicle for any work duty.
- A smartphone with reliable service and willingness to use our mobile field app.
- Comfortable working safely on standard ladders, outdoors, and inside customer homes.
- Clear, respectful customer communication, punctuality, honest recordkeeping, and dependable follow-through.
- You must report fit for duty and may not work, drive, or enter customer property while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, or misused medication.
- This position does not involve rope-access or high-rise window cleaning.
Why join early
You would be the first technician helping shape our field process and quality standard. Your experience and ideas will matter. As routes grow, there is room to take on more responsibility, including independent routes and helping future technicians learn the process.
Schedule and location
- Flexible part-time daytime work based on booked jobs.
- Service hours are Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Routes begin around Orem and Provo and may extend throughout Utah County.
How to apply
Please send a resume and tell me about your professional window-cleaning experience, availability, transportation, and earliest start date. Finalists will be asked for two professional references after the first conversation.
Pay: From $7.25 per hour
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
Application Question(s):
- Please describe your professional window-cleaning experience, including the types of properties, ladders, tools, and cleaning methods you have used. What interests you about helping build an early-stage local business?
