Your Task

As a Cloud Architect you understand the latest developments of physical or virtual networks in cloud and container technology. You drive the further development of the network in our OpenStack-based cloud platform in the interest of customers and the OpenSource community. Customer-oriented you develop and extend the platform of our Open Telekom Cloud platform.

Responsibilities

• You will be involved in the design, operation and further development of OpenStack-based services on the T Cloud Public Platform in the network area in close contact with the manufacturers.
• You plan and drive automation using common automation frameworks.
• You further develop the physical and virtual network architecture, taking IT security aspects into account.
• You will work together with specialists from our team and other Deutsche Telekom teams on the technology topics of public cloud, open source.
• You will prepare materials for presentations and advise management on technology decisions.
• As a senior architect you will work in an agile based squad and supporting other colleagues is part of the journey.
• Improve the platform architecture while taking IT security seriously.
• Design and develop innovative platform and software-as-a-service features.
• Be a trusted advisor for OpenStack-based public cloud technology.
• Hands-on work on a console to back your architectural work.
• Consistently automate with common automation frameworks.
• Working in a team of specialists where everyone helps each other in an open and trusting manner.

Your Profile

We are looking for a highly experienced Cloud Architect with extensive expertise in cloud and container technologies, particularly OpenStack-based platforms, strong networking knowledge, and proven ability to work in agile environments with excellent technical and interpersonal skills.

Must Have Skills

• Completed studies in a technical, engineering or scientific subject or comparable professional training
• Minimum 11 years of professional experience in IT with a focus on modern cloud technologies
• Very good knowledge of software architectures
• Very good knowledge of cloud architectures
• Very good knowledge of container architectures
• Experience in infrastructure automation
• In-depth knowledge of Linux
• In-depth knowledge of system tools
• In-depth knowledge of network related services
• Strong customer orientation
• Knowledge of agile development processes
• Mentoring skills
• Presentation skills
• Ability to assess technical solutions
• Ability to come up with creative approaches
• Fluency in written English
• Fluency in spoken English
• Ability to work in the European Union to meet data security and privacy requirements

Nice to Have Skills

• OpenStack experience
• Programming experience in OpenSource projects
