Export Controller

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To manage the end-to-end export process, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations, and liaising with shipping lines, customs, clients, and internal teams. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to regulatory requirements and proactive problem-solving to ensure seamless export operations for shipments while maintaining our core values (Teamwork, Trust, Innovation, Respect, Integrity and Quality) and culture.

Arrange the collection of cargo

• Ensure cargo is collected as per the customer’s request.

Secure booking with airline/shipping line

• Check if any inspection or fumigation is required.

On-time clearance

• Achieve 100% on-time clearance for total shipments handled against the specified timeframes.

To achieve and maintain a 100% on-time collection and delivery service level.

• Cargo needs to be collected from wineries (LCL / FCL) and delivered to the consolidation warehouse and airport/port, and storage/container detention needs to be avoided at all costs.

On-time shipping documents

• All shipping documents are dispatched within the specified time frame.

To ensure that all queries are dealt with efficiently and are attended to or resolved within 48 hours

• Revert to clients with solutions.

100% Completeness of L-Shipping

• Ensure each file is closed on L-Shipping and Shipshape after invoicing, with all supporting documentation saved to the electronic file.

To achieve and maintain 100% on-time invoicing service level.

• To request charges after departure, to ensure the invoice is generated within the KPI.

Reach Monthly and Quarterly Target

• Ensure charges received are correct and loaded accordingly on L-Shipping. Accurate costing of the shipment for invoicing.

Files per minute under 450 minutes

• Ensure files are closed within 450 minutes.

No Customer Complaint

• To ensure customer needs are always met.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Matric with Mathematics pass is essential.
• Diploma/Degree in Logistics Management or in Transport and Supply Chain Management and/or relevant Tertiary equivalent qualification.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in exports.
