Export Trade Assistant

We are looking for an Export Trade Assistant to support international trade operations and help ensure shipments move smoothly from order execution through delivery and payment. This role partners with commercial teams, logistics providers, financial institutions, and internal stakeholders to coordinate export activity, maintain accurate trade records, and uphold regulatory compliance. Based in Bloomington, Minnesota, this position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-focused, and experienced in global shipping processes.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate export transactions from order confirmation through shipment completion, ensuring timelines, documentation, and customer requirements are met.

• Prepare, review, and maintain import and export paperwork, including shipping, customs, and trade-related records needed for cross-border movement.

• Work closely with sales, traders, freight partners, customs brokers, carriers, and banking contacts to support timely delivery and payment processing.

• Monitor shipment activity and resolve issues related to transportation, documentation accuracy, or international routing delays.

• Help ensure trade activity aligns with applicable export regulations, company policies, and country-specific requirements.

• Track contractual and logistical milestones to support smooth execution of international sales agreements.

• Communicate shipment status, document updates, and exception items to customers and internal teams in a clear and timely manner.

• Maintain organized records of trade transactions to support reporting, audit readiness, and operational accuracy.

• 3+ years of experience in export, import/export, or international trade support roles.

• Working knowledge of export documentation and cross-border shipping requirements.

• Familiarity with export laws, trade compliance standards, and international logistics practices.

• Experience coordinating with external partners such as freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines at once.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working across customers, vendors, and internal teams.

• Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and reviewing documents for completeness and compliance.
