Externship-Culinary

Position Summary:

The Culinary Externship provides hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment for culinary students or recent graduates. Under the guidance of experienced chefs, externs will rotate through various kitchen stations, gaining exposure to food preparation, cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and execution of daily menu items.
• Rotate through kitchen stations including garde manger, hot line, pastry, and prep.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Participate in inventory, receiving, and storage of ingredients.
• Support the culinary team during service periods.
• Attend scheduled training sessions and staff meetings.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a culinary arts program.
• Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
