Extruder Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion machines, ensuring optimal performance throughout production runs
• Conduct routine inspections of extruded products using precision measurement tools to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards
• Adjust machine settings and troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues promptly to minimize downtime
• Follow safety protocols diligently while handling industrial equipment, robotic systems, and materials handling tools such as hand tools and forklifts
• Perform quality inspections at various stages of production, documenting measurements and ensuring compliance with specifications
• Maintain detailed records of production data, machine maintenance, and quality checks for reporting purposes
• Assist with materials handling, loading raw materials into machines and managing finished product storage in the warehouse

Requirements

• Proven experience operating plastics extrusion machinery or related manufacturing equipment in a production environment
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment and robotic systems effectively
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and plastics blow molding or injection molding processes is highly desirable
• Ability to perform dimensional measurements accurately using precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes
• Basic math skills for calculating measurements, machine adjustments, and production data analysis
• Experience with safety protocol adherence in an industrial setting, including forklift operation and warehouse procedures
• Knowledge of plastics production processes, machining techniques, and engineering troubleshooting methods is a plus
• Excellent hand tool skills along with the ability to handle materials safely within a manufacturing or warehouse environment

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 – 50.0 per week
