EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and knowledgeable, EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant for a lovely SEN Primary based in Coventry.

Our client supports children aged 4-11 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and a broad spectrum of cognitive, physical, and developmental special educational needs.

You will be required to support with the learning and development of your assigned pupils. Assisting with daily activities, small group learning and personal care when required. This role is ideal for an individual who is committed to making a positive impact on pupils' learning and development in a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to EYFS pupils with a range of special educational needs.
• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing EHCPs and behaviour management strategies.
• Provide a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
• Support the social and emotional development of pupils, encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Work both 1:1 and in small groups, adapting resources and approaches to meet the needs of individual learners.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working within Early Years Foundation Stage.
• A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of SEN and strategies for supporting students with complex needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the holistic development of pupils.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when required.
