Fabric Development Manager

Our partner, a well-established fashion group experiencing rapid growth across Southeast Asia and new international markets, is seeking a Fabric Development Specialist to join their expanding team. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, sourcing excellence, and ensuring the highest standards of raw materials to support the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pro-actively research fabric and trim innovation, and be well informed of new technologies, seasonal trends and competition; relay this information back to the company.
• Partner with Product and Design teams to manage fabric, labels, and trim development throughout the product lifecycle.
• Oversee sample fabric and trims ordering and initial fabric testing and report plus FOB costs negotiation.
• Build and maintain the library of key & core materials, seasonal fabric, trim and colour standards within the business.
• Build relationships with global partners and suppliers.
• Attend Fabric Show to get new ideas on fabric development.
• Expand sourcing network and evaluate regularly the performance of fabric mill.
• Negotiate with suppliers on pricing and agreement.

Key Requirements:

• University Degree or Higher Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile or Clothing
• Around 8-year relevant experience of which at least 3-year in supervisory level.  Possess in-depth knowledge of fabric, weaving, dyeing and finishing, inspection procedures and testing methods for textiles
• Solid experience in fashion fabric development
• Knowledge of China fabric markets is a must
• Strong fashion sense and hands-on experiences
• Sound PC knowledge including Excel and Word
• Good communication and negotiation skills
