Fabric Sourcing Executive

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Source fabrics wovens, knits and specialty as per buyer and style requirements
• Identify and develop relationships with mills, traders and process houses
• Obtain and negotiate fabric quotes; compare cost, quality and lead time
• Coordinate fabric approvals lab dips, strike-offs, physical swatches with QA and merchandising
• Track fabric orders from placement to in-house delivery; follow up on delays
• Maintain an updated fabric library and vendor database
• Evaluate new fabrics and surfaces for product development
• Support cost reduction through alternative source development

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 3 to 5 years of experience in fabric sourcing, fabric trading or at a textile mill.
• Sound knowledge of fabric constructions — wovens, knits, georgettes, crepes, dobby, printed fabrics
• Understanding of dyeing, printing and finishing processes and their impact on quality
• Experience in fabric costing and negotiation with mills and traders
• Familiarity with testing standards — shrinkage, colour fastness, GSM, tensile strength
• Proficient in MS Excel and professional email communication
• Degree in Textile Technology, Fashion or equivalent — preferred

We prefer candidates who are based in or around Faridabad.
