Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise fabrication shop and final packaging operations to achieve production, quality, safety, and on-time delivery targets.
  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule production activities across multiple work centers based on workload, capacity, material availability, and delivery commitments.
  • Assign daily work to shop employees according to skill level, certifications, workload, and production priorities.
  • Maintain and regularly update the shop-floor skill matrix; identify training needs and coordinate employee development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Flowserve safety policies, safe work practices, and applicable environmental requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by conducting regular safety discussions, identifying risks, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure production processes comply with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements, including adherence to documentation, traceability, inspection, and record-retention procedures.
  • Monitor and manage key operational KPIs, including utilization, efficiency, productivity, scrap, rework, quality performance, and schedule adherence.
  • Analyze production losses, quality issues, and daily shop-floor constraints; implement corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving tools.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives, including AMEF/FMEA, Value Stream Mapping, 5S/6S, SMED, standard work, visual management, and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Apply statistical process-control principles to monitor process performance, identify variation, and improve product quality.
  • Support inventory management activities, including material availability, WIP control, inventory accuracy, and coordination with planning and supply chain teams.
  • Ensure appropriate use of ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and other production-planning tools for reporting, scheduling, and daily operational management.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, manufacturing procedures, inspection plans, and customer specifications.
  • Ensure fabrication and assembly activities comply with applicable engineering and industry standards, including API 610, ASME, AWS, and other relevant requirements.
  • Support and oversee API and non-API pump manufacturing processes, ensuring that approved procedures and quality requirements are consistently followed.
  • Conduct training for shop employees on safety, quality, procedures, technical requirements, Lean practices, and standard work.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, and Maintenance teams to resolve operational issues and improve overall plant performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant manufacturing experience, including experience supervising shop-floor operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in fabrication shop operations and final packaging activities.
  • Working knowledge of CNC programming and machining/manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous-improvement tools, including AMEF/FMEA, VSM, 5S/6S, SMED, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with production planning, capacity management, work-center scheduling, and inventory/WIP management.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, process control, and ISO 9001/ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Familiarity with API 610, ASME standards, and preferably AWS welding standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems, and Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-development skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pump manufacturing, including API and non-API pump production processes.
  • Experience implementing Lean, Operational Excellence, or continuous-improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
