Fabrication Bid/Estimator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fabrication Bid/Job Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our commercial fabrication projects. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids by analyzing project specifications, reviewing blueprints, and estimating material and labor costs. Your expertise will ensure that projects are priced effectively, aligned with client expectations, and delivered within budget. Duties

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope accurately.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for fabrication projects using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include material costs, labor estimates, equipment needs, and project timelines.
• Utilize Bluebeam and other construction management software to review plans, annotate drawings, and manage bid documentation efficiently.
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through negotiation to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Manage multiple bids simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and adherence to project deadlines.
• Analyze material requirements from blueprints and coordinate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor project budgets during the bidding process to ensure cost control and profitability targets are met.
• Assist in managing project estimates from initial concept through final bid submission, supporting project managers in planning and execution.
• Conduct site visits when necessary to gather on-the-ground insights that influence accurate estimation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial fabrication or construction industry.
• Strong proficiency with estimating software such as construct connect or equivalent
• Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans accurately.
• Excellent knowledge of construction management software tools including Bluebeam, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and spreadsheets for data analysis.
• Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and estimating construction project budgets.
• Effective negotiation skills with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to achieve optimal pricing and terms.
• Construction site experience coupled with a solid understanding of construction processes and safety standards.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and detailed reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple bids efficiently while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
