Fabrication Engineer

We are seeking an experienced CNC Fabrication Engineer to support CNC machining, fabrication, fixture design, and automated manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with CNC programming, machining processes, mechanical design, and automation tooling.

This role will be responsible for developing and executing manufacturing processes, supporting process validation and change management, designing fixtures and End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT), and collaborating with automation and manufacturing teams to deliver projects on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and support CNC machining and fabrication processes for manufacturing projects.
• Program and support Haas, Mazak, DMG, and other CNC machining centers , including 5-axis and 6-axis equipment.
• Develop and modify G-Code, NC Code, and CNC programs using Mastercam and related tools.
• Design and develop fixtures, jigs, End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT), and other mechanical components .
• Create and modify 3D models and mechanical designs using SolidWorks .
• Read, interpret, and develop mechanical drawings, diagrams, layouts, and system drawings.
• Support the design and development of automated welding work cells and manufacturing equipment .
• Collaborate with automation and engineering teams during the integration and qualification of automated systems .
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) for product builds, fixtures, tooling, and automation projects.
• Support process development, validation, troubleshooting, and engineering change activities.
• Identify manufacturing issues and implement solutions to improve quality, productivity, and process efficiency.
• Train technicians and operators on CNC processes, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing procedures.
• Support facility and equipment builds using appropriate power tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet technical requirements, quality standards, and timelines.
• Travel approximately 20% to client locations to support system integration activities.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, production, quality, or CNC machining operations.
• Technical degree, Engineering degree, CNC Machinist certification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with CNC machining and programming .
• Experience with G-Code, NC Code, and Mastercam .
• Experience programming CNC equipment such as Haas, Mazak, or DMG .
• Experience with fixture, jig, and tooling design .
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software .
• Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and system layouts.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and precision measurement equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience programming 5-axis and 6-axis CNC machining centers .
• Experience supporting automated welding systems and industrial automation .
• Experience designing End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) .
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience with machine/system integration and qualification.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
