What they need

Description

Sanmina Corporation (Nasdaq: SANM) is a global powerhouse in integrated manufacturing solutions serving the fastest growing segments of the global Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) market. We are a global engine providing the end-to-end manufacturing backbone for the world's most essential and innovative brands. Whether it's autonomous vehicles, life-saving medical tech, next-gen aerospace, or AI/cloud infrastructure - our integrated solutions don’t just meet standards—they redefine them.

What You'll Do

The Fabrication Product Engineer acts as the technical bridge between our customers and the production floor. You will be responsible for translating complex customer requirements into actionable manufacturing data within our ERP and PLM systems. This role requires a deep technical understanding of sheet metal transformation and a meticulous approach to data integrity and regulatory compliance.

  • Manufacturing Documentation: Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and Production Routings within the ERP system to ensure seamless manufacturing execution.

  • Data Management: Upload and manage technical specifications, drawings, and customer documentation using Agile PLM.

  • Technical Transformation: Apply expert knowledge of sheet metal processes—including CNC punching, press brake bending, welding (TIG/MIG/Spot), industrial painting/powder coating, and final mechanical assembly—to define optimized production paths.

  • Customer Integration: Review customer design files and engineering change orders (ECOs) to ensure all specifications are achievable and properly documented.

  • Environmental Compliance: Take full ownership of REACH and RoHS certifications, ensuring all materials and components meet global environmental and regulatory standards.

  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the production team to refine routings and processes to improve yield and reduce cycle times.

  • Sheet Metal Expertise: Practical understanding of metal deformation, bend deductions, and the sequencing of punching and welding operations.

  • System Proficiency: Advanced experience with Agile PLM and standard ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP).

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with environmental compliance tracking (REACH, RoHS, and Conflict Minerals).

  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and 3D CAD models.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5+ years of hands-on experience in a precision fabrication, machine shop, cleanroom, or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam).
  • Knowledge of metalworking techniques (CNC machining, sheet metal, laser cutting, welding) or semiconductor processes (etching, lithography, deposition).
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC), GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and ERP/MES systems.

How to Stand Out

  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
  • Lean Manufacturing certification
  • Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE).
