Fabrication Tech 1

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator is responsible for operating production machinery in the fabrication department.  Fabrication Tech 1 - operator may operate a tumbler, welder, washer and/or notching.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes, but may not be limited to the following:

• Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator Inspects in-process fabricated parts.
• Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator operates tumbler, welder, washer and notching stations.
• Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator inserts magazine tube or tubes into machine and perform welding, washing, notching and tumbling applications.
• Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator must meet productivity and waste standards.
• Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator performs visual Inspection of welded components for defects and cosmetic issues.
• Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator maintains workflow with no or minimum interruptions.
• Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator is responsible for cleanliness and orderliness of work environment.
• Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator promotes teamwork and willingness to help others.
• Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator commits to quality and accuracy of work performed.
• Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator is responsible for following established safety procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• H.S. diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of manufacturing experience
• Basic problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Able to multi-task
• Able to utilize Micrometers, Calibers, Drop Gage and Dial Indicators
• Able to read and following instructions outlined in production documents

Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, personnel policies, graphs and other production documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior leaders, departmental managers and directors.

Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk.  Employees must be able to stand for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, reach overhead, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading computer screens and small print.

The noise level in the manufacturing environment is usually loud.  Hearing Protection is required.
