Fabricator/Welder

Position Overview:

The Welder Fabricator is responsible for the accurate fabrication and welding of steel structures and architectural metalwork, ensuring all work is carried out to the required quality standards and project specifications. They play a crucial role in maintaining Steel Build Ltd’s reputation for workmanship, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

· Read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, and fabrication instructions.

· Fabricate structural steelwork, staircases, balustrades, and bespoke metalwork in line with drawings and standards.

· Perform welding using ARC, MIG, and TIG methods, including work with mild steel and aluminium.

· Set up welding machines and maintain equipment through preventative maintenance procedures.

· Carry out dimensional checks and quality inspections on fabricated items.

· Identify and report any discrepancies or issues in drawings, materials, or completed work.

· Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all work is carried out in a safe manner.

· Assist with loading, unloading, and moving heavy materials within the workshop as required.

· Support other fabrication team members to ensure project deadlines are achieved.

· Maintain accurate records of production activities, including welding inspections and fabrication checks.

· Adhere to all workshop health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.

· Uphold and promote Steel Build Ltd’s core values, safety standards, and commitment to quality.
