Facade Design Manager

Role Description The Facade Design Manager is a full-time based in Singapore, responsible for leading façade design activities across multiple projects. This role oversees the development of technical façade concepts, detailed drawings, and system specifications, ensuring compliance with structural and regulatory requirements. The Facade Design Manager coordinates with internal engineering, project management, and fabrication teams in China, as well as external architects, consultants, and contractors, to resolve design issues and optimize buildability and cost. Daily tasks include reviewing and approving design documents, conducting design reviews and coordination meetings, providing technical guidance to designers, and supporting tender submissions with façade proposals and calculations. The role also involves monitoring design progress, managing design changes, and contributing to continuous improvement of design standards, guidelines, and digital design tools.

Qualifications

• Strong façade engineering and design experience, including curtain wall, cladding, and glazing systems, with the ability to develop technical solutions and detailed drawings.
• Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit or other BIM tools, and façade analysis software) and familiarity with digital collaboration platforms.
• Solid understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations related to façade performance, structural integrity, fire safety, waterproofing, thermal, and acoustic requirements.
• Experience coordinating with architects, structural engineers, M&E consultants, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and align design intent with construction constraints.
• Demonstrated project management skills, including planning design deliverables, managing timelines, and handling design changes while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on practical, buildable solutions and cost efficiency.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, including the ability to mentor junior designers, lead design reviews, and present technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline; specialized training in façade engineering is an advantage.
• Experience in façade design within Singapore with knowledge of local construction practices.
