What they need

Evening Facial Specialist Instructor

Class Hours: 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Gulf Coast Academy is currently seeking a knowledgeable, dependable, and enthusiastic part-time Facial Specialist Instructor to teach our evening Facial Specialist program.

We are looking for an experienced skincare professional who enjoys sharing their knowledge, working with students, and helping future estheticians develop the technical skills and confidence they need to begin their careers in the aesthetics industry.

License Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Florida Facial Specialist registration or Cosmetology license and meet all applicable requirements to provide instruction within the program.

Previous teaching experience is a plus, but we also welcome experienced industry professionals who have a passion for education and are comfortable demonstrating techniques, explaining concepts, and working closely with students.

Position Overview

The Facial Specialist Instructor is responsible for providing classroom and hands-on instruction throughout the Facial Specialist program.

The instructor will guide students through both the theory and practical components of esthetics, helping them understand skincare fundamentals while developing proper treatment techniques, professional habits, sanitation practices, client communication skills, and confidence in the treatment room.

This position includes demonstrating services, supervising hands-on practice, monitoring student progress, and providing close oversight as students begin performing services on clients in the student clinic.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging classroom and hands-on instruction for Facial Specialist students
  • Prepare and follow lesson plans that align with the school's approved curriculum and program requirements
  • Demonstrate facial and skincare techniques and supervise students during hands-on practice
  • Teach foundational concepts including skin anatomy and physiology, skin analysis, treatment protocols, ingredients, contraindications, and client consultation
  • Reinforce proper sanitation, disinfection, infection-control, and safety procedures
  • Supervise students while performing services on fellow students, models, and clients in the student clinic
  • Provide constructive feedback and additional guidance to students as needed
  • Monitor student participation, practical skills, assignments, and overall progress
  • Maintain an organized, professional, and positive classroom environment
  • Assist students in developing professional communication, client care, and workplace skills
  • Ensure treatment rooms, equipment, supplies, and student work areas are maintained appropriately
  • Complete required attendance, grading, student documentation, and other instructional records
  • Communicate with school administration regarding student progress, attendance, concerns, or additional support needs
  • Encourage students and help create a supportive learning environment while maintaining appropriate classroom expectations and standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Florida Facial Specialist registration or Cosmetology license
  • Professional experience working as an esthetician, facial specialist, or skincare professional
  • Strong knowledge of facial treatments, skincare, sanitation, and industry best practices
  • Comfortable performing and demonstrating hands-on skincare techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, dependable, organized, and comfortable leading a classroom
  • Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience is a plus
  • Experience with advanced aesthetic services or additional skincare certifications is a plus
