Pivotal Energy Partners Inc.

Facilities Analyst

Company Overview:

Pivotal Energy Partners is a privately held energy company created in 2019. Our goal is to strategically bridge the logistical and financial gap between our partners and the marketplace for their products through infrastructure investments and marketing solutions. We have a proven Executive and Management team with expert industry knowledge in logistics, marketing, and transportation.

Pivotal is seeking a commercially minded professional to join our growing team in Calgary in our Facilities group. This full-time, in-office role will support Pivotal Facilities across our crude, NGL, gas, and power assets.

In this role, you will work with commercial, scheduling, business development and operations teams to improve asset performance and margins. You will identify and develop new commercial opportunities, maintain and build counterparty relationships, and evaluate blending, transportation, gas processing, and power economics to support commercial and operating decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Commodity & Asset Optimization

  • Evaluate blending economics to identify opportunities to improve margins
  • Maintain blend models reflecting product quality, injection rates, shrinkage, and facility constraints
  • Assess gas processing and power asset economics, including fuel costs, operating costs, and revenues
  • Compare supply, delivery, and operating options to improve netbacks and asset utilization

Scheduling & Operational Support

  • Support crude and NGL scheduling and coordinate gas supply with relevant teams
  • Monitor inventory, throughput, gas volumes, and power output against operating plans and capacity
  • Assess transportation, storage, and operating options to manage volume swings and asset constraints
  • Track contracted volumes and commitments to support nominations and capacity utilization
  • Assist with volume and revenue reconciliations across crude, NGL, gas, and power activities
  • Coordinate with commercial and field teams on outages, maintenance, and changes in operating conditions

Commercial Facility & Partner Relationships

  • Identify and develop new supply, throughput, infrastructure and optimization opportunities across Pivotal’s asset base
  • Maintain and strengthen existing counterparty relationships and develop new relationships with producers, marketers, and other commercial partners
  • Support commercial proposals and contract negotiations, working with internal teams to move opportunities from initial discussions through execution
  • Prepare netback and sensitivity analyses to assess pricing, costs, volumes, and returns for new and existing business

Performance Reporting & Data

  • Maintain forecasts and dashboards for margins, inventory, throughput, gas processing, and power generation
  • Investigate actual results against forecasts and communicate key drivers of asset performance
  • Improve data quality and automate recurring analysis and reporting using Excel and other analytical tools

Preference will be given to candidates that have the following qualities/skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in energy, commercial analysis, scheduling, or operations; new graduates are welcome
  • Interest in Western Canadian crude, NGL, natural gas, and power markets; asset knowledge is an advantage
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills; experience with Power Query, Power BI, SQL, or Python is an asset.

What This Role Offers

  • Contribute to commercial growth and operating decisions across crude, NGL, gas, and power assets
  • Be part of a collaborative, in-office team environment in Calgary
  • Gain hands-on exposure to blending, logistics, gas processing, and power asset economics
  • Build commercial and analytical skills through counterparty engagement and close work with marketing, scheduling, and field teams
