---- WHAT YOU'LL DO ----

Working alongside our Sexton and Custodian, you'll help maintain the Cathedral's historic buildings and grounds and prepare our spaces for daily activities, worship services, and special events.

Cleaning & Facility Care

• Clean and maintain restrooms, offices, hallways, gathering spaces, and other assigned areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, sanitize surfaces, empty trash, and replenish supplies.
• Help ensure the Cathedral is clean, orderly, and ready to welcome visitors each day.
• Complete evening cleaning and routine building closing procedures.

Maintenance & Grounds Support

• Assist with basic repairs, preventive maintenance, and general building upkeep.
• Safely use hand tools, small power tools, and custodial equipment.
• Help maintain outdoor spaces, walkways, parking areas, and plazas, including seasonal cleanup and snow removal.
• Identify and report maintenance issues or safety concerns.

Event & Cathedral Readiness

• Set up and reset spaces for Masses, weddings, funerals, concerts, meetings, and community events.
• Move and arrange tables, chairs, furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Provide custodial support before, during, and after scheduled events.
• Assist with parking and pedestrian traffic coordination during special activities.

---- WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ----

You don't need years of experience or a specialized background. We're looking for someone who is reliable, willing to learn, and takes pride in their work.

Our ideal candidate:

• Is dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently.
• Is able to jump into action to solve minor
• Pays attention to details and maintains high standards of cleanliness.
• Is comfortable with physical work and using basic tools and equipment safely.
• Follows instructions, communicates clearly, and works well with others.
• Treats coworkers, visitors, and sacred spaces with professionalism and respect.
• Has previous custodial, janitorial, maintenance, or facilities experience (preferred, not required).

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and perform physical tasks indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Schedule & Compensation

• 20–29 hours per week
• $18.00–$25.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
• Regular schedule includes approximately four-hour evening shifts Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with additional weekday hours as scheduled.
• Some flexibility for holidays, special events, and major Cathedral celebrations is appreciated.
