Facilities Engineer

About the role

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, reliability, and improvement of company facilities, building systems, utilities, and equipment. The role ensures that facilities are safe, functional, compliant, and maintained efficiently to support continuous business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the operation and preventive maintenance of building facilities, utilities, and equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Inspect electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and other facility systems.
• Monitor facility equipment performance and coordinate troubleshooting and repairs.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment history, inspections, and work orders.
• Coordinate with contractors and service providers for facility repairs, maintenance, and projects.
• Prepare maintenance schedules, work plans, technical reports, and cost estimates.
• Monitor utility consumption such as electricity, water, fuel, and other resources.
• Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, operating costs, and equipment downtime.
• Ensure facilities comply with applicable safety, environmental, building, and regulatory requirements.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in facilities, building maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of building and facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Good communication, coordination, and project management skills.
• Ability to work with contractors, suppliers, technicians, and internal departments.
• Willingness to work on-site and respond to facility emergencies when required.
• Professional engineering license/certification is an advantage, depending on local requirements.
