This is an entry-level role with on-the-job training and opportunities to develop mechanical and equipment-maintenance skills.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on non-complex packaging and material-handling equipment.

  • Complete basic equipment adjustments, lubrication, cleaning, belt and component replacement, and other routine maintenance tasks.

  • Troubleshoot common equipment issues and determine when problems can be corrected in-house or require escalation to a qualified technician or vendor.

  • Respond to equipment issues that impact daily operations and communicate status, downtime, and repair needs to the Operations Manager.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, document completed work, and identify recurring equipment issues or potential failures.

  • Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, relocation, and installation of basic components as directed.

  • Use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and basic maintenance equipment safely and appropriately.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance area and follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.

  • Coordinate with Operations, Warehouse, Maintenance vendors, and other partners to support equipment reliability and business priorities.

  • Assist with maintaining an inventory of common maintenance supplies, tools, spare parts, and consumable items.

  • Learn the operation and maintenance requirements of company equipment and develop the skills necessary to independently complete routine maintenance tasks.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve safety.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.

PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Prior experience in maintenance, machine operation, automotive repair, manufacturing, warehouse operations, or a related hands-on environment preferred, but not required.

  • Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn how equipment works and how to troubleshoot basic problems.

  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safely perform routine maintenance tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to take ownership of equipment condition and uptime.

  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for assistance or escalate an issue.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, climb, kneel, and use hands for tools and equipment. Must be able to safely lift and move typical maintenance materials and components, with reasonable accommodation as applicable. Work may occur around operating warehouse and packaging equipment and may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
