Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal operation and upkeep of our building infrastructure and facilities. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and efficient environment by performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks. Duties

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior components to ensure operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using schematics, electrical work knowledge, and tools such as ohmmeters.
• Conduct welding and carpentry tasks to repair or modify facility structures as needed.
• Maintain facilities equipment including hand tools, electrical equipment, HVAC units, and plumbing fixtures.
• Follow safety protocols while performing maintenance painting, building interior repairs, and other facility-related tasks.
• Read schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately and execute repairs efficiently.
• Support maintenance painting projects to enhance the appearance and integrity of the facility’s interior spaces.
• Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for troubleshooting automated systems when applicable.
• Lead or assist with maintenance operations related to MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) supplies to ensure availability of necessary parts.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or management.

Experience

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC system repair.
• Hands-on knowledge of electrical equipment repair, plumbing system maintenance, HVAC troubleshooting, welding techniques, carpentry skills, and building interior upkeep.
• Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring and mechanical systems; ability to interpret technical diagrams confidently.
• Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred but not required.
• Skilled in using hand tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting complex issues.
• Demonstrated ability to perform residential painting as part of general facility upkeep is a plus.
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or lead small teams during maintenance projects.
• Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective collaboration with team members.
