Facilities Maintenance Technician

**Position Summary:**Manage and assist in the completion of the day-to-day activities, involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery including HVAC, building lighting systems and overall facility appearance. Coordinate the work of employees who assist with the repair and maintenance of building/facility, equipment and machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Knowledge of the use of the tools, measuring instruments and methods used in various skilled trades.

· Perform repairs to equipment.

· Perform carpentry work, mainly repairs.

· Change filters, as required.

· Painting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical.

· Performs weekly and monthly equipment checks.

· Participates in departmental meetings and in-services.

· Regularly checks the fire alarm system and assists with monthly fire drills.

· All other reasonable duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Carpentry, construction or completion of an accredited maintenance program a plus.
• Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple complicated priorities/tasks.
• Exhibit strong judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to interface with all types of mechanical and construction contractors.
• Knowledgeable in all phases of construction and building maintenance.
• Computer literate.
• Valid driver’s license.
