Facilities Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Conduct building interior maintenance including painting, carpentry, drywall repairs, and facility cleaning to uphold high standards of appearance and safety.
• Maintain facilities equipment such as hand tools, power tools, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other mechanical devices.
• Repair plumbing systems and perform plumbing system maintenance to prevent leaks or failures.
• Use welding skills for metal fabrication or repair projects as needed.
• Read technical schematics and diagrams to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions efficiently.
• Lead small maintenance projects or assist with larger repairs while adhering to safety protocols.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants.
• Document all maintenance activities accurately in logs or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities equipment maintenance and repair.
• Proficiency with electrical work including electrical equipment repair and troubleshooting using schematics and tools like ohmmeters.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, building interior maintenance, plumbing system maintenance, and residential painting.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Knowledge of maintenance painting techniques and carpentry skills for building interior upkeep.
• Familiarity with maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) practices for facility management.
• Ability to read technical schematics and electrical diagrams accurately.
• Experience with plumbing repairs including leak fixes, pipe replacements, and system troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork.
• Leadership qualities to guide junior technicians or coordinate small projects when necessary.

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45.0 – 60.0 per week
