Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

The Administration Building, Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing advanced maintenance technician tasks and assuming lead in the absence of the Superintendent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled cleaning of Administrative Building to include but not limited to wiping and disinfecting surfaces and fixtures, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors of office spaces, common areas and bathrooms. Emptying trash receptacles and ensuring proper disposal of recyclables and compostable items
• Maintain accurate cleaning logs and inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Perform all regular tasks of the building maintenance department, including custodial work, outdoor maintenance (landscaping and snow removal), town runs, building security and other maintenance projects, such as painting
• Conduct inspections of facilities and grounds, as assigned by Dept Superintendent, to identify and address needs
• Assist in managing records of maintenance activities, communicate needs that arise to department supervisors
• In the absence of the Dept Superintendent, will assume lead in maintenance duties
• Assist Superintendent with granting and terming access of door card and key system, following system protocol.
• Under direction of Department Superintendent assist with vehicle fleet maintenance operations to include but not limited to cleaning, maintenance coordination and administration support.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures including attending safety meetings as assigned
• Participates in meetings as assigned to include but not limited to Safety and Sustainability monthly meetings.
• Create a respectful and courteous environment for guests and staff

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of maintenance and cleaning, or related experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License
• In-depth knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety protocols
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Excellent communication abilities
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends
• Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Wage/Salary:

This position is identified as a Grade 14 on the ORDA/CSEA schedule with an entry rate of $21.97 per hour. The Olympic Authority offers an excellent benefits package that includes paid leave (sick, vacation, and personal time), paid holidays, health, dental, and vision insurance, participation in the NYS and Local Retirement Systems, and participation in NYS Deferred Compensation, as defined under the CSEA contract.
