Facilities Maintenance Technician

Duties

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems including HVAC units, electrical panels, plumbing systems, and mechanical equipment to ensure continuous operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to resolve issues promptly.
• Conduct welding, carpentry, painting, and other building interior maintenance tasks to uphold facility aesthetics and safety standards.
• Maintain facilities equipment by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades in accordance with operational guidelines.
• Use hand tools and electrical equipment repair techniques to address various maintenance needs efficiently.
• Read and interpret schematics for electrical wiring, HVAC systems, plumbing layouts, and mechanical systems to facilitate accurate repairs.
• Lead or assist with projects involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC system repairs, or other specialized technical tasks.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding quickly to maintenance requests from staff or management while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Maintain grounds and exteriors, including landscaping upkeep, parking lots, lighting, signage, drainage, and general site cleanliness.
• Assist with unit turnovers and make-ready work between tenants.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies

Requirements

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field with a strong background in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC repair, and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of facilities equipment maintenance procedures, including troubleshooting using schematics and diagnostic tools like ohmmeters.
• Skilled in welding, carpentry (including residential painting), maintenance painting, plumbing system repair & maintenance, and building interior upkeep.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical equipment repair is highly desirable.
• Ability to read technical schematics accurately and interpret building plans for effective troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and electrical tools for repairs.
• Excellent communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with team members and provide clear instructions or updates.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while managing multiple responsibilities.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
