Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. In a busy restaurant environment, the safety, functionality, and overall condition of our building are critical to our daily operations.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of the property, ensuring that both the front-of-house and commercial kitchen run smoothly. You must have proven, hands-on expertise in commercial plumbing and electrical systems, along with a strong work ethic and the ability to solve problems efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Maintenance: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including interior and exterior lighting, switches, outlets, and commercial kitchen power supplies.
• Plumbing Maintenance: Perform routine and emergency plumbing repairs, including maintaining restroom fixtures, fixing leaks, clearing drains, and ensuring the proper function of kitchen sinks, dishwashers, and grease traps.
• Preventative Maintenance: Execute a routine maintenance schedule to prevent equipment failure and ensure compliance with basic health and safety codes.
• General Upkeep: Handle minor carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and general cosmetic fixes to keep the building safe and well-maintained.
• Vendor Coordination: Identify when a highly specialized contractor is needed (e.g., major HVAC repairs) and oversee their work.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues to minimize disruption to staff and guests.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Core Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency and hands-on experience in both electrical and plumbing work.
• Experience: Previous maintenance or handyman experience in a commercial, retail, or restaurant setting is strongly preferred.
• Reliability & Professionalism: Ability to work safely and efficiently, minimizing interference with daily business operations.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work outside of standard business hours (early mornings or late evenings) for disruptive repairs.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and comfortably work in utility areas or under kitchen equipment.
• References: Must provide two professional references from past employers or clients who can verify your technical skills and dependability.
