Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Competitive hourly pay based on experience

About the Position

Taxman Hospitality Group is seeking a skilled, dependable, and versatile Facilities & Maintenance Technician to help maintain our growing portfolio of restaurants, hospitality venues, and commercial properties.

We're looking for a true jack-of-many-trades—someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in keeping properties in excellent condition, and can confidently tackle a wide variety of maintenance and improvement projects.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in general construction, property maintenance, or the skilled trades who prefers variety over doing the same thing every day.

Key Responsibilities

General Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance across multiple properties.
  • Complete drywall repairs, patching, painting, trim work, and basic carpentry.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs within applicable licensing and safety requirements.
  • Repair and maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, shelving, and other building components.
  • Identify and resolve maintenance issues before they become larger problems.

Restaurant & Kitchen Equipment

  • Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration, and other restaurant systems within demonstrated qualifications.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, and minor component replacements.
  • Coordinate with specialized service providers for repairs requiring licensed or certified technicians.
  • Help minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions.

Grounds & Property Maintenance

  • Perform lawn mowing, trimming, landscaping, and general grounds maintenance.
  • Maintain sidewalks, patios, parking areas, and building exteriors.
  • Assist with seasonal property maintenance and upkeep.
  • Keep facilities clean, safe, functional, and presentable.

Project Coordination

  • Assist with property improvements, renovations, and small construction projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors for more complex repairs and improvements.
  • Obtain estimates, monitor project progress, and ensure work is completed properly.
  • Help identify cost-effective solutions and opportunities to complete work in-house.

Qualifications

  • Experience in general maintenance, construction, property management, or a related trade.
  • Working knowledge of painting, drywall, carpentry, basic plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn basic commercial kitchen equipment repairs.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to perform physical work, lift equipment and materials, and use ladders safely.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Previous experience maintaining restaurants or commercial properties.
  • Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, or commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Experience coordinating contractors or overseeing construction projects.
  • Background in multiple skilled trades.

What We're Looking For

Above all, we're looking for someone who is resourceful, reliable, and takes ownership of their work.

The right person doesn't need to be an expert in every trade, but should be comfortable figuring things out, completing quality repairs, and knowing when to bring in a specialist.

We value someone who can work independently, manage their time effectively, and take pride in maintaining our properties to a high standard.

Why Join Taxman Hospitality Group?
