Facilities Management Manager

Facilities managers typically coordinate and oversee activities related to building maintenance, groundskeeping and workplace safety. While they may not perform repairs themselves, they supervise maintenance teams, manage vendor relationships and use digital tools to schedule and track work.

• Inspect buildings and grounds to ensure compliance with safety and accessibility codes
• Identifying maintenance and repair needs across the property
• Scheduling repair projects, cleaning routines and capital improvements
• Supervising maintenance staff and delegating, cleaning and facilities tasks
• Negotiating and managing service contracts with external vendors
• Creating and monitoring facilities budgets for maintenance, repairs and supplies
• Coordinating office relocations and workspace reconfigurations
• Establishing and enforcing workplace safety, emergency and security protocols

Qualifications

• Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
• Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
• Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Good analytical/critical thinking
• BSc/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) will be an advantage
