As the Facilities Manager at Timbertop, you will play a key role in supporting a predominantly residential community, where infrastructure, safety, and daily operations are critical to the seamless delivery of academic, pastoral, and co-curricular life. On-site accommodation is not provided as part of this role.

In this role, you will work closely with staff, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality facilities management and asset performance outcomes. You will lead the planning and execution of maintenance, infrastructure, and asset strategies that ensure the campus operates efficiently, safely, and sustainably, supporting the needs of a diverse and dynamic community.

If you are a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a passion for facilities leadership, we’d love to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Developing the Timbertop Campus Asset Management Strategy, to deliver process improvement, upgrade programs, and long-term planning

  • Maintain and monitor the Asset Management Plan, including maintenance, renewals, upgrades, Essential Safety Measures (ESM), and risk management

  • Lead, supervise, and support the Facilities and Farm Team, fostering capability development and growth

  • Provide technical expertise and advice across facilities operations, farming and infrastructure management

  • Drive the development of high-quality operational plans, incorporating both short and long-term maintenance strategies

  • Establish and manage preventative maintenance schedules, service contracts, and service level agreements

  • Oversee contract performance, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, industry standards, and Workplace Health & Safety requirements

  • Maintain strong accountability for planned maintenance budgets

  • Manage the fmXpert system, including job flow, scheduling, and reconciliation of works

  • Oversee critical infrastructure, including, the water treatment plant, the sewage plant, and the water testing systems

  • Conduct annual lifecycle reviews of plant and equipment

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to OHS policies

  • Undertake additional duties aligned with the scope of the role

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated experience in facilities and asset management, ideally across complex or multi-site environments

  • Strong leadership capability, with a proven ability to develop and motivate teams

  • Solid understanding of asset lifecycle planning, maintenance strategies, and capital works

  • Experience managing contracts, service providers, and performance standards

  • Knowledge of Essential Safety Measures (ESM), risk management, and OHS compliance

  • Ability to manage budgets and financial accountability

  • Strong technical understanding of building systems and infrastructure, including utilities and plant equipment

  • Experience with facilities management systems (e.g., fmXpert or similar)

  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence

  • Ability to thrive in a remote, residential school setting

  • Willingness to engage in all aspects of campus life

What we offer

  • A unique and picturesque campus environment

  • The chance to make a meaningful impact on the safety, sustainability, and performance of campus operations

  • Attractive salary and superannuation

  • Opportunities for development and career growth
