What they need

ABOUT US

At Pressed Cafe, we believe exceptional food and drink start with quality ingredients and a passion for hospitality. Our all-day menu features Mediterranean-inspired dishes made with fresh, local ingredients, paired with great coffee and fast, friendly service.

Pressed Cafe is an emerging, high-growth premium quick-casual restaurant company with a strong regional presence and exciting expansion plans. With multiple locations today and an aggressive development pipeline, we are building the infrastructure to scale significantly over the next several years. As a founder-led organization, we remain deeply committed to hospitality, culture, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

At the heart of everything we do is our mission: Great People, Great Food, Great Coffee.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Pressed Cafe is seeking a proactive, hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the functionality, safety, and maintenance of our cafés across the market. Reporting to the SVP, Strategy & Operation Services, this role is responsible for ensuring every location operates efficiently, safely, and in alignment with our hospitality standards.

This is an on-the-ground role. You'll spend the majority of your week in our cafés — walking kitchens and dining rooms, meeting vendors on site, checking in with café leaders, and seeing issues firsthand rather than managing them from a distance. If you'd rather be in the walk-in diagnosing a compressor than behind a screen reading a ticket about it, you'll fit right in.

The ideal candidate is organized, solutions-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment. You'll partner closely with café leadership, vendors, and construction teams to maintain our facilities, resolve issues quickly, and support future growth.

WHAT “ON-THE-GROUND” MEANS HERE

Most of your week is spent in our cafés across Massachusetts and New Hampshire, not at a desk.

Frequent, recurring visits to every location, so you know each building, its equipment, and its team.

On site for vendor visits, major repairs, and walkthroughs whenever possible, so work gets verified in person.

Admin work (work orders, invoices, reporting) fits around your time in the field, not the other way around.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

IN THE CAFÉS

  • Be a consistent, visible presence across our cafés, spending the majority of your week on site at locations throughout the market.
  • Conduct frequent, recurring site visits, audits, and walkthroughs at every location to ensure facilities are safe, compliant, clean, and operating effectively.
  • Oversee day-to-day facilities operations for multiple Pressed Cafe locations, diagnosing issues firsthand and working alongside café teams to resolve them.
  • Build strong working relationships with General Managers and café leaders. Know their buildings, their equipment, and their pain points.
  • Meet vendors on site to scope work, oversee repairs, and confirm quality before signing off.
  • Respond in person to urgent maintenance or operational emergencies as needed, including after-hours support.

MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS

  • Manage preventative maintenance programs, repairs, and ongoing upkeep of café spaces, systems, and equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance related to HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, security systems, pest control, and foodservice equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness across facilities.

VENDORS, BUDGET & COMPLIANCE

  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, evaluate service levels, and ensure quality performance.
  • Oversee facilities budgets including maintenance contracts, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Manage work order systems, ensuring timely response and resolution of issues. Review and approve vendor invoices and related facilities expenses.
  • Maintain permits, licenses, and compliance documentation for all locations.
  • Prepare reports and analysis related to maintenance trends, costs, and facility performance.

GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT

  • Partner with Development and Construction teams on new café openings, remodels, and expansion projects.
  • Conduct on-site walkthroughs of projects in development to support long-term maintenance planning.
  • Support additional projects and initiatives as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • 4+ years of facilities management, property maintenance, restaurant operations, or related experience.
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations preferred.
  • S trong working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and general maintenance.
  • Experience managing vendors, service contracts, and repair budgets.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and respond quickly to urgent situations.
  • Strong communication skills with a service-first mindset.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, construction, and leadership teams.
  • Experience with work order systems (ServiceChannel or similar preferred).
  • Hospitality or restaurant facilities experience strongly preferred.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Ability to read plans, technical drawings, and construction documents.
  • Facilities certifications (IFMA, CFM, or similar).

FIELD, TRAVEL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • You like being in the field. You're energized by time on site, not drained by it.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel frequently between café locations throughout the week.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or respond to emergencies when needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, kneel, crawl, and work in active café environments.
