Facilities Manager

Role Description The Facilities Manager role at Laboratorio de Ciencias Actuariales y Política Pública is a part-time remote position responsible for overseeing the planning and coordination of facility-related operations across multiple sites. The Facilities Manager will manage schedules for maintenance and repairs, coordinate with vendors and service providers, and ensure that all remote locations comply with safety, security, and accessibility standards. This role includes tracking facility budgets, monitoring utility usage, maintaining documentation, and preparing regular status reports for leadership. The Facilities Manager will also collaborate with internal teams to support space planning, equipment needs, and continuous improvement of facility-related processes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in facilities management, operations, or a related field, with the ability to oversee maintenance, safety, and vendor coordination.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a remote, part-time environment.
• Proficiency with digital tools for remote work and facilities coordination (e.g., spreadsheets, project management platforms, communication tools).
• Knowledge of basic safety, security, and compliance standards relevant to office or research environments.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and proactively identify and resolve facility-related issues.
• Experience in academic, research, or public policy settings is an advantage.
• Relevant education such as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in facilities management, administration, or a related discipline preferred.
