Facilities Manager — Botanic

Full-time | $55,000–$70,000 annually, based on experience

Position Summary

Botanic is seeking an organized, dependable Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, appearance, and operation of our buildings, grounds, and equipment. This is a hands-on role responsible for anticipating maintenance needs, coordinating repairs and projects, and keeping our restaurant, retail, greenhouse, and event spaces ready for employees and guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily facilities operations, prioritize maintenance requests, and ensure work is completed promptly and correctly.
• Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, building components, and equipment.
• Conduct regular property inspections, identify safety hazards and repair needs, and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate contractors and service providers, obtain quotes, schedule work, and verify quality and completion.
• Direct maintenance staff and assign work as applicable, setting clear expectations and following up on results.
• Monitor maintenance expenses, manage supplies and replacement parts, and help plan budgets for repairs and equipment replacement.
• Perform general repairs within your qualifications and arrange qualified professionals for specialized work.
• Coordinate with department leaders to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to guests, events, and daily operations.
• Oversee tools, maintenance storage areas, and equipment to ensure they are organized, secure, and properly maintained.
• Maintain records of inspections, repairs, service agreements, warranties, and recurring maintenance.
• Support facility improvements and expansion projects by coordinating installation, repairs, and operational readiness.
• Respond to urgent facility issues and communicate significant needs, costs, and progress to leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management, maintenance supervision, or a comparable role; hospitality or commercial property experience preferred.

• Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general construction.

• Experience coordinating vendors, managing projects, and prioritizing multiple responsibilities.

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to recognize potential issues and take initiative before they disrupt operations.

• Ability to perform physical maintenance duties, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working outdoors.

• Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely; forklift experience preferred.

• Availability to address occasional urgent issues outside regular business hours.

• Standard schedule will be Monday-Friday; flexibility and availability in the event of an emergency is desired.

• On-site in Opelika, AL.
