Facilities Manager

Gelato Giuliana and Cold Fusion Gelato, growing manufacturers of premium gelatos and sorbets, is seeking a mechanically inclined, motivated candidate to run our equipment infrastructure and facilities operations. Our ideal candidate has 10+ years in facilities management or adjacent role within food manufacturing, has a “can do” mindset and the ability to juggle multiple projects flawlessly. Bilingual English/Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Routinely inspect facilities and schedule or execute preventive or corrective repairs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, ammonia system, compressors and life-safety systems.
• Manage multiple vendors and contractors to ensure quality of work and fair pricing. Oversee external service providers for freezers/coolers and ammonia system, landscaping, security, snow removal and all type of building services, equipment and repairs.
• Ensure property meets all safety and fire codes, OSHA guidelines, accessibility standards, and remains in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Manage facilities and equipment budget, track maintenance expenses and implement cost-saving measures. Make repairs yourself where possible.
• Oversee space & project planning: Coordinate office relocations, facility renovations, and capital improvement projects.

Requirements

• Physically able to lift 45 lbs.
• Physically able to work in a cold environment for short periods of time (freezers).
• Must have a solid understanding of mechanical systems including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, freezer equipment and food production machinery.
• Ammonia certified (this can be obtained after hire).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong organizational skills, communication skills, work ethic, reliability and desire to exceed expectations. Hours: 6:30am-3:00pm

Pay: $68,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
