Facilities Manager

Brightsmith are working with an exciting, growing advanced materials business looking to appoint a Facilities, Logistics & Site Operations Manager to take ownership of its technical facilities and operational infrastructure. Interesting technology with applications across the energy and defence space.

This is a broad, hands-on role, working across office, laboratory and pilot-scale processing environments. You'll be joining at an important stage of growth, with the opportunity to play a central role in an upcoming facility relocation and the development of scalable site operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing day-to-day facilities, site operations, contractors and technical suppliers.
• Leading the facilities and logistics workstream for an upcoming site relocation.
• Overseeing purchasing, equipment, materials, inventory and technical logistics.
• Coordinating health, safety and compliance systems, including COSHH and environmental requirements.
• Managing operational budgets, suppliers and site services.
• Establishing processes and systems to support the business as it scales.

Experience Required:

• Experience across facilities, site operations or technical logistics within an industrial, manufacturing, laboratory or pilot plant environment.
• Strong supplier, contractor and budget management experience.
• A practical, hands-on approach and the confidence to work independently.
• Familiarity with health and safety requirements in technical environments.
• An interest in sustainability, advanced materials and emerging technologies.
