Facilities Technician

Main Responsibilities

· Assist Engineers with the installation, modification, upgrading, and commissioning of factory facilities and utility equipment, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air systems, fire protection systems, and building facilities.

· Support the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of factory utility systems to ensure uninterrupted support for production and office operations.

· Conduct routine inspections of facilities, utility equipment, and building infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with safety requirements.

· Provide technical assistance in facility improvement projects, utility upgrades, energy-saving initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.

· Handle assignments that require sound judgement and initiative, understanding the implications of tasks and offering practical solutions.

· Perform preventive maintenance according to the given schedule and standard methods to ensure the reliability of facilities and utility systems.

· Assist Engineers with maintenance-related activities, data collection, reporting, record keeping, and the installation or setup of new facilities and utility equipment.

· Responsible for day-to-day operational maintenance and reporting directly to the Maintenance Engineer.

· Ensure minimal facility and utility equipment breakdowns and work towards reducing recurring repair issues through effective troubleshooting and corrective actions.

· Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air systems, water supply systems, lighting systems, and fire protection systems.

· Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for maintenance, servicing, inspection, testing, and repair works when required.

· Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with company safety requirements, environmental regulations, and applicable statutory requirements. Maintain proper maintenance records, service reports, checklists, and other related documentation.

· Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time.

Min Competency – Education/ Training/ Experience/ Skill

· Minimum qualification: Technical Certificate or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Facilities Management or any related technical field.

· At least 2 years of experience in a maintenance/facilities technician role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

· Hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air systems, or building facilities maintenance.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Proficient in the use of maintenance tools and equipment.

· Basic knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC systems, utility equipment, fire protection systems, and facility maintenance practices.

· Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.

· Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
