Facilities/IT Technician

The Role and Impact:

As a Facilities/IT Technician , you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing Digital Fortress’ facilities and data centers. You will leverage your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, HVAC, and data center systems. • Perform daily rounds and readings and routine inspections of HVAC and data center equipment, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, system reliability and output
• Perform facility technician tasks, such as preventative maintenance (PMs), corrective maintenance (CMs), projects, troubleshooting and repairs on operational HVAC facility systems, such as fans, air handlers, pumps, chillers, condensers, and cooling towers
• Perform datacenter/IT technician tasks, such as auditing & reporting connections, running and terminating cable, responding to customer inquiries, troubleshooting customer issues and maintaining the datacenter environment
• Drive continuous improvement throughout Digital Fortress by identifying facility and datacenter system inefficiencies and implementing creative solutions
• Partner with facility teammates, internal and external customers, sales teams, and IT teams to deliver solutions that support facility and datacenter processes
• Provide technical input to engineering and management teams for procedural development, for documents such as alarm RFCs, PM guides, and more

Shift Information:

Weekdays – onsite at data center location(s) - (Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs, & Fri) – 7:30AM to 3:30PM PST

1-week on-call periods during which emergency escalations/help needs for data center are your responsibility to handle – rotates between all facility personnel on a ~4 week cadence

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in industrial mechanical systems, including HVAC systems, chilled and heating water systems, air handlers, pumps, and piping.
• 2+ years of experience in data center operations, including cabling runs, security system management, customer interfacing, and IT troubleshooting
• 2+ years of experience with troubleshooting and conducting repairs on various mechanical equipment and systems.
• Experience (3+ years) with using the Microsoft suite of applications and tools (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Teams, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with VOC, scrubber, and exhaust system maintenance.
• Experience in utilizing any mid-to-large scale BMS (e.g. SCADA, Metasys, Niagra, Pythia, etc.)
• Experience in utilizing any mid-to-large scale CMMS (e.g. Maximo, Limble, etc.)
• CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent is preferred
• Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA) is preferred

Pay: $26.59 - $29.00 per hour
