What they need

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mechanical system performance
  • Inspect and analyse chillers, chilled-water pumps, CRAHs/CRACs, ventilation and dehumidification. Cover cooling towers, AHUs, in-row cooling, water treatment and other mechanical assets where installed.
  • Review temperature, humidity, flow, differential pressure, equipment condition and energy trends against approved requirements. Validate abnormal readings and identify deterioration, recurring alarms and capacity or redundancy concerns.
  • Lead mechanical investigations with Electrical, Fire Protection, BMS/Automation Engineers and OEMs as needed. Recommend changes using measured evidence, reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) analysis, and assessed service impact.
  1. Preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Develop and review preventive maintenance (PM) scopes, schedules, checklists and pass/fail criteria. Coordinate technicians and vendors around current impairments, required coverage and approved work windows.
  • Verify procedures, permits, competent personnel, tools and spares before work. Perform authorised tasks and witness critical steps within competence. Stop and escalate deviations from the approved method or site conditions.
  • Verify workmanship and results. Track defects, corrective actions and relevant spare-parts needs. Confirm restoration checks, monitoring and complete maintenance-system records before recommending closure.
  1. Daily technician supervision
  • Translate approved priorities into assignments through site or shift leaders. Review handovers, rounds, equipment status and outstanding alarms. Check completed tasks, field readings and supporting records.
  • Resolve routine resource conflicts within the agreed plan. Escalate competing work that threatens site coverage. Coach technicians, assess practical competency and support drills. Address contractor performance through the designated contract interface.
  1. Incident response and troubleshooting
  • Support approved emergency response and lead mechanical diagnosis. Establish equipment condition, service impact and remaining redundancy. Coordinate specialists and maintain action records and escalation updates.
  • Route instructions through the field lead. Verify recovery against approved criteria and monitoring requirements. Complete assigned root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions; keep unresolved defects open after service restoration.
  1. Procedures and operational support
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), mechanical asset records and relevant drawings. Record approved revisions and brief affected personnel.
  • Assess changes against operating limits, interfaces, maintainability and redundancy. Review commissioning evidence, training and handover defects. Report equipment condition, maintenance progress and improvement actions at agreed intervals.

Requirements:

  • Polytechnic diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, with relevant MEP, instrumentation or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum five years in facility, process-plant or power-plant operations, engineering or maintenance.
  • Demonstrated mechanical/HVAC troubleshooting, safe work planning and technician or vendor supervision.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and trends, use maintenance management systems, develop operational procedures and understand basic single-phase and three-phase power calculations.
  • Good English communication, accurate reporting, teamwork and independent judgement within authority.
  • Preferred: Data center operations experience; advanced HVAC and centrifugal refrigeration knowledge; condition monitoring, energy analysis, RAM studies and commissioning experience.
