About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facility Engineer to join our team in Johor on a full-time basis. This is a critical on-site role responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning, maintenance and safety of our facility systems and infrastructure. As a Facility Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting our operational excellence by managing mechanical, electrical and environmental systems, conducting preventative maintenance, and responding to facility-related issues in a timely and professional manner. This position is essential to maintaining continuous operations and ensuring a safe, productive working environment for all personnel.

Key responsibilities

1. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building infrastructure
2. Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns, troubleshooting and resolving issues efficiently
3. Monitor and maintain building mechanical and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency
4. Perform repairs and maintenance work on equipment, machinery and building components as required
5. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation of all facility activities and repairs
6. Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
7. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialised maintenance and repair services
8. Manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies
9. Conduct staff inductions and provide guidance on proper facility usage and safety protocols
10. Support facility improvements and upgrades by assisting with planning and implementation

What we're looking for

1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environment Engineering or equivalent field of study
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in facility management or building maintenance engineering
3. Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing and general building infrastructure
4. Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical equipment faults
5. Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance programmes
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
7. Physical fitness and ability to perform manual work, including climbing, lifting and working at heights where required
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
9. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining safe working practices
10. Experience in SMP manufacturing enviroments is preferred.
11. Relevant certifications in HVAC, electrical safety or maintenance management are preferred
