St. Albert of Trapani Catholic Church is an established parish in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston,

serving a large and diverse Catholic community through daily and weekend Masses, sacramental life,

religious education, and parish ministries. The parish offers faith formation programs for children, youth,

and adults, along with sacramental preparation and ongoing opportunities for spiritual growth. In addition

to its liturgical life, the parish hosts regular ministry meetings, parish community events, and liturgical

seasonal activities throughout the year. The parish campus includes the church, parish offices, classrooms,

meeting areas, and outdoor spaces. With a full schedule of liturgies, programs, and gatherings, maintaining

the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of these facilities is essential to supporting the mission and daily

operations of the parish. This is a full-time, benefits- and PTO eligible position that offers the ideal candidate

an opportunity to contribute directly to the daily life and operations of the parish in a meaningful role

supporting the mission-driven St. Albert of Trapani Catholic Church.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned:

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of parish buildings and grounds

• Conduct regular inspections and proactively address maintenance needs

• Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs as needed

• Cleaning and maintaining cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all indoor and outdoor spaces

• Assist with setup, breakdown, and logistical support for parish events, liturgies, and meetings

• Monitor building systems and equipment to ensure proper operation

• Identify maintenance concerns and resolve or report issues in a timely manner

• Coordinate with parish leadership to prioritize work and plan preventative maintenance

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a safe environment

• Manage tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies effectively

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general repair practices

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail

• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities

• Ability to collaborate with parish staff, clergy, and volunteers in a professional manner

• Reliable, organized, and respectful of a faith-based environment

• Physical ability to lift, move, and operate equipment, and perform manual labor as required

• Must be fluent in English, both oral and written; Spanish language is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent required

• Technical and relevant certifications such as HVAC certification, electrical or plumbing licensing,

OSHA safety training, or facility maintenance certifications are preferred

• Vocational training in maintenance, construction, or a related field a plus

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or a

related trade
