Role Summary

The Facility Maintenance Manager oversees day-to-day facilities and maintenance operations for our church campus. This hands-on leadership role keeps the building and grounds clean, safe, and ready for ministry, supports ministry leaders for special events, and supervises the facilities/maintenance team.

Responsibilities

Facilities

• Oversee cleaning and maintenance of the campus, inside and out
• Support ministry leaders for memorials, weddings, baptisms, and other special events
• Interact with and support the church body and volunteers in a welcoming, professional way
• Supervise, train, and encourage facilities/maintenance team members
• Build and manage weekly schedules for facilities/maintenance staff
• Order and maintain monthly cleaning supplies and related inventory

Maintenance

• Support vehicle maintenance, fueling, and upkeep
• Assist with and/or coordinate painting, remodels, electrical, lighting, plumbing, and A/C work
• Schedule staff according to church needs, projects, and event calendars
• Coordinate vendors and contractors as needed for specialized work

Requirements

Required

• Relevant facilities, maintenance, building operations, property management, construction, or trades experience (church, commercial, school, multifamily, or similar settings accepted)
• Ability to supervise, schedule, and train a small team
• Hands-on capability across general maintenance (painting, basic electrical/lighting, plumbing, HVAC coordination, remodels, and related work)
• Strong communication skills and a servant-hearted, team-oriented attitude when working with staff, volunteers, and congregants
• Pastoral heart with a desire to raise up men and women and disciple them
• Reliable, organized, and able to prioritize multiple campus and event needs
• Ability to work on-site in Gardena, CA, with flexibility around church services and special events as needed

Preferred

• About 5 years of facilities/maintenance management, building operations, or construction experience (flexible by setting and role depth)
• Experience supporting events in a church, school, nonprofit, or similar community environment
• Experience ordering supplies, managing vendors, and coordinating light project work
• Valid driver’s license and comfort supporting vehicle upkeep
