Facility Maintenance Technician

Overview

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

• Maintains, organizes and repairs structures, including buildings, carports, barns, outbuildings and other garages.
• General upkeep, window repair and replacement and any repair or replacement of interior and exterior doors.
• Replace or repair woodwork throughout the campus.
• Repairs equipment, including but not limited to lawn mowers, tractors, backhoe, chainsaws and other implements used on the property.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in clean and safe working conditions.
• Perform carpentry work to include repairing woodwork, window/door casements, and trim.
• Provide high quality interior and exterior painting, including surface prep, patching, sanding and finishing.
• Make repairs to wooden staircases (steps and handrails).
• Assist in maintaining wastewater treatment and equipment, tending to pumps and other equipment necessary to maintain proper wastewater process.
• Assist in installation and repair of water and sewer lines.
• Take samples as required.
• Perform weekly and weekend rounds (on a rotating basis).
• Complete all annual safety training as required.
• Assist with snow and ice removal and the application of ice melt in designated areas.
• Assists in burial detail in MSJ cemetery.
• Performs preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumping, HVAC and waste management systems.
• Ensures good housekeeping/cleanliness standards are kept within sections of the maintenance department for safety and insurance purposes.
• May be called to assist in grounds keeping duties, including mowing, trimming and debris removal.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• The ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
• The ability to grasp and lift up to 50 pounds.
• The ability to read, recall, write, and understand information.
• The ability to work under moderate pressure
• The ability to manage multiple tasks.

Education, Training and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three years of experience in maintenance, carpentry, mechanics, pluming and/or electricity.
• Must Possess a valid driver's license
• Must be proficient in drywall repairs.

Pay: $23.21 - $29.36 per hour
