Facility Support Associate (Part-Time)

Bucks County SPCA (BCSPCA) is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facility Support Associate to help maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning animal shelter. This role includes janitorial work, minor building and equipment repairs, vehicle and grounds maintenance, and weekly transportation of animals and supplies between shelters.

The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable with physical and outdoor work, and able to provide courteous service to staff, volunteers, and community members. Basic equipment is provided.

Part-time; 20-25 expected hours per week; typical schedule of Monday-Thursday from 9am-2pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning:

• Sweep and mop public areas to maintain cleanliness of facility.
• Clean and restock supplies in restrooms, offices, and lunchroom.
• Empty wastebins; collect and remove trash and recyclables.
• Clean frequently touched surfaces to help keep an orderly shelter environment.
• Keep cleaning supplies and equipment organized and notify shelter management when items need to be ordered.

Building & Equipment Maintenance:

• Complete routine maintenance such as changing air filters and light bulbs, installing doorstops, and mounting wall items.
• Maintain equipment and perform minor fixes and repairs.
• Report major repair needs or issues requiring professional service to shelter management.
• Assist with maintaining accurate records for maintenance and service needs.

Company Vehicles & Transportation:

• Inspect company vehicles weekly and report any visible damage, upcoming service needs, or operational concerns to shelter management.
• Keep vehicles clean, monitor fuel levels, and refuel as needed.
• Assist in vehicle drop-off and pick-up for maintenance with local garage, including service appointments, inspections, and recalls.
• Drive a company vehicle weekly to transport animals and supplies between shelters.
• Make occasional local trips for shelter-related errands such as visits to supply and hardware stores.

Grounds, Safety, & Service:

• Maintain shelter grounds including mowing, weeding, mulching, and seasonal planting.
• Remove snow and apply salt to walkways during winter weather.
• Follow BCSPCA safety procedures and always ensure the humane treatment of animals.
• Provide helpful, professional service to staff, volunteers, and members of the community.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with building, vehicle, or grounds maintenance.
• Valid PA driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Dependable, self-motivated, organized, and attentive to detail.
• Able to follow instructions, maintain accurate records, and work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
