Behind every classroom, performance, athletic event, and school day is a dedicated team keeping our campus running smoothly.

We're looking for a skilled, dependable, and team-oriented Facilities Technician who takes pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning campus.

In this hands-on role, you'll tackle a variety of maintenance projects, from locks and building systems to groundskeeping and seasonal operations. No two days are quite the same, and your work will make a meaningful difference for our students, faculty, and staff.

What You'll Do

Building Maintenance & Repairs

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling (HVAC) systems.
  • Perform general repairs, including carpentry, painting, drywall, fixtures, and plumbing.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and follow projects through to completion.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.

Locks, Keys & Campus Security

  • Install, repair, and maintain locks, doors, and window hardware.
  • Cut and duplicate keys and rekey locks as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of keys, access systems, and related maintenance.

Grounds & Seasonal Maintenance

  • Assist with mowing, weeding, and general campus groundskeeping.
  • Play an important role in snow and ice removal to keep campus roads, walkways, and entrances safe.
  • Be available for occasional early-morning, evening, or weekend snow removal when weather conditions require.

Campus & Team Support

  • Help prepare facilities for school events and activities, including sound equipment setup.
  • Move and assemble furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate maintenance records.
  • Follow safety procedures and work collaboratively with the Facilities team.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of locksmithing experience.
  • At least 4 years of general mechanical or building maintenance experience.
  • Hands-on electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A positive, team-first attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Flexibility to support seasonal and occasional off-hours needs.
  • Valid Maine driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Personal cell phone for work-related communication.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Locksmith certification or license.
  • Electrical license or other trade certifications.
  • Experience with plumbing, HVAC, or sound equipment.
  • Familiarity with elevator operation and basic systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely climb and work on ladders.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all Maine seasons.

Schedule, Pay & Benefits

This is a full-time, year-round, hourly position with a typical Monday–Friday schedule, currently 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.

Seasonal snow removal and campus needs may require adjusted hours, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.

Compensation: Hourly pay based on experience. Overtime is paid after 40 hours per week.

Benefits include:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • School meals
